Award-winning pianist Nano Beraia, hailing from Tbilisi, Georgia, is celebrated for her extraordinary talent and deeply expressive performances. From an early age, Nano Beraia showcased a distinctive piano style characterized by strength, passion, and musicality. Her remarkable journey began with a standout debut at just six years old, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 8 in C Major with the Tbilisi Chamber Orchestra, an early indication of Nano Beraia’s exceptional abilities.
Nano Beraia’s pursuit of excellence has led her to seek guidance from some of the most esteemed pedagogues in the field. She has benefited from masterclasses and lessons with distinguished musicians such as John Lill, Håvard Gimse, Simon Trpceski, Alexei Volodin, Natalia Trull, Vera Nosina, Martin Lysholm Jepsen, Edisher Savitski, and Pablo Galdo. These experiences have helped shape Nano Beraia’s unique style, blending technical precision with deep emotional insight.
At the age of ten, Nano Beraia gained international recognition by winning a special prize for her performance of Tchaikovsky at the International Contest Festival for Young Pianists in Glubczyce, Poland. This accolade marked the beginning of a series of prestigious awards, including the Grand Prix at the “Music Without Borders” competition in Druskininkai, Lithuania, first prize and a golden medal at the Jyväskylä International Competition in Finland, and first prize at the Tbilisi Young Pianist 3rd International Competition. These achievements underscore Nano Beraia’s exceptional skill and dedication to her passion for music.
Nano Beraia’s concert career is distinguished by her extensive performances across Europe and beyond. She has graced stages in Germany, Lithuania, Turkey, Georgia, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, the USA, Azerbaijan, and Poland. Her repertoire spans from early music to contemporary works, with a recent focus on Romantic-era compositions. Nano Beraia’s dynamic performances include solo recitals and chamber music engagements at various prestigious academic concert halls and festivals.
In addition to her performing career, Nano Beraia has excelled academically. She completed her Bachelor’s studies at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire under Alexander Garber and pursued a Master’s degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo with Professor Kathryn Stott. Nano Beraia’s second Master’s degree was earned at Bowling Green State University under Professor Yevgeny Yontov, where she achieved notable success by winning the Concerto Competition in 2023 with Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3, performed with the BGSU Philharmonia. Graduating with honors, Nano Beraia was honored with the J. Paul Kennedy Music Achievement Award as the top student in the College of Musical Arts. Currently, Nano Beraia is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under Professor Michael Chertock. Her recent triumphs also include winning the Marjorie Conrad Art Song Competition, further showcasing her excellence in collaborative piano.
